Best Classroom Library Competition

Session 2024-25

 

Dear All

Having a classroom library can be a great tool in any class and can serve several purposes. All classrooms have different needs and having a classroom library can be a great way to reach out to all the students. To encourage the students to read more and more, the Library faculty is organizing the “Best Classroom Library Award” competition from the current session 2024-25.

The class students will make their own classroom library. They can donate their personal books to the classroom in case they do not need them. The primary objective of the Classroom Library initiative is to share one’s favorite books with the community. The class teachers are requested to encourage students to donate their read books to the classroom and recommend the name of two students of their class for the Classroom Library Monitor. The Library monitors will maintain the record of issues and return of books in a simple register or notebook.

Criteria for Competition:-

Ø  Utilization of the classroom library.

Ø  Behaviour of the class in library.

Ø  Students benefiting from the classroom library.

Ø  Contribution of books by the students during birthdays.

Ø  Selection will be based on presentation of library books/ arrangement of books and overall cleanliness.

Ø  Best classroom library will be awarded at the end of the year as the “Best Classroom Library of the School”.

 

Following are the Classroom Library Rules:-

•   The donated books must be of your class level and no textbooks.

•   The book can be a Fiction, GK, Quick Reads, Science, Mysteries, Biographies and Autobiographies, Cars and transportation, etc.

•   Care for books and use of bookmark.

•   Students can check out one book at a time.

•   Treat books kindly and gently.

•   Share books with others.

·      Inventory to be maintained

·      List of book donors to be displayed
